What is the way to the tasting in Bordeaux?

We will spend three days in Bordeaux at the beginning of July and I want to do some tasting. Ideally, we want to rent a car (none of us can drive a stick and automation are far too expensive) – there easy to get to the vineyards / Castles can be visited? Also, I know there are a number of famous like Château Mouton Rothschild – are those that are open the public? Advice / recommendations are greatly appreciated!

There is a site talking to travel in the region of Bordeaux, but it does not seem cheap.
